What is camp like?
The PVBC Basketball Camp is designed to be a fun and energetic experience for children from 1st through 8th grade, at a very low cost thanks to our amazing volunteer staff.  Check out our highlight videos (2025 2024 2023 & 2018)!  The general schedule of camp starts with warmups and stretching, followed by breakout stations where kids will learn the fundamentals of basketball, then a break with our famous Snack Shack, followed by team versus team games, then a lesson, then awards.

Is my child’s grade level based on the current school year or after summer break?
You should indicate what your child’s grade will be for the next school year (after the summer break).  For example, if your child is currently in 4th grade, and will be entering 5th grade after summer break, you should indicate 5th grade for Basketball Camp.

What basketball experience level does my child need to have?
All levels are welcome! Our camp has literally hundreds of kids each year.  With so many kids, we have many kids of every basketball ability and experience level – from those who never play to those on school or club teams.

Who will be on my child’s team and who will they be playing against?
We have 4 divisions at camp. 1st and 2nd graders play together in a division, as do 3rd and 4th graders, 5th and 6th graders, and 7th and 8th graders.  All games and fundamental stations will be with teams in the same division.  Our camp is coed with boys and girls playing together on the same teams.  We do our very best to balance each team in terms of boys and girls and experience levels.  We do make some trades after the 1st and 2nd days of camp when teams are not properly balanced.

Where is the camp held?
The camp is held on the campus of Pleasant Valley Bible Church, located at 1101 East Ponderosa Dr, Camarillo, Ca, 93010.  Camp will start and end in the church Gym.  Games and fundamental stations will be scattered around the campus between the Gym, Small Parking Lot, and Large Parking Lot.  You can use this map to better orient yourself.

Will my child be fed?
Food is not included in the registration fees for the campers.  We do have a dedicated break/snack time in the middle of each session.  Students can bring their own snack or purchase one at our Snack Shack.  While not required to participate, Snack Shack is always a camp favorite, fully stocked with 25 cent candies and dollar hot dogs and nachos.

Can I make a special request for my child?
If you have a special request for your child, please email us (basketballcamp@pvbiblechurch.com) with your request.  While we cannot always guarantee it, we will do our very best to accommodate your request.
