Sunday Worship

What Happens on Sunday?

Growth in Christ comes through the preaching of God’s Word.

Children’s Services & Other FAQs

For the Kids

Child care and Sunday school are available for ages 0-7. Parents may drop off their children in the preschool and nursery wing next to the main Worship Center starting 10-15 minutes before service, where we have 3 rooms broken up by ages (0-1, 2-3, 4-7). Look for signs to point you to the right room, or ask anyone of the volunteers in the rooms for help on where to go.

We normally have dedicated services for children between the ages of 7 and 12 which starts after the music portion of the main worship service, but this ministry is currently on hold.

At the entrance of each room you will find a clipboard with a sign in sheet. Bring the kids over, fill out the form, say hi to the volunteers, and enjoy main service.

A simple snack is provided for children ages 2 and over, along with an opportunity for supervised play time inside the classroom and in our adjoining playground. For comments, questions, or special instructions regarding snacks, talk to your child’s Sunday school teacher.

Children’s church for ages 2-7 consists of interactive lessons and activities taught by various members of our church who are qualified and have passed appropriate background checks. We use the Generations of Grace children’s Bible curriculum for all lessons.  There are no lessons offered for the nursery-aged children (0-1).

There is a room available close to the right side main door to the Worship Center which we affectionately call the “Cry Room.”  This room is reserved for mothers and their babies and features a mirrored privacy window with views of the main service, low lighting, baby toys, and plenty of cozy seats.

Other FAQs

Main service starts at 10am in the Worship Center. Feel free to park in the small lot closest to the worship center, but that tends to fill up shortly after service begins. The large parking lot should have plenty of space. Childcare and Sunday school starts about 10-15 minutes before service begins in the Preschool and Nursery wing of the main worship center. Our order of worship starts off at 10am with 4 worship song, then followed by Scripture reading and prayer, a 30-45 minute sermon, 1 worship song, announcements, and a final prayer.  We usually conclude service around 1130am, when many folks linger around for fellowship.  This is a great time to meet people!  On the 2nd and 4th Sundays, we have flocks shortly after service ends, including the most popular Fireside Flock which meets at church and usually provides lunch.  All are welcome to join!

Our Sunday sermons are usually done by our Senior Pastor, Paul Phillipps.  All our other elders and some members teach from time-to-time as well.  Most of Pastor Paul’s sermons are a verse-by-verse walk through a book of the Bible, with short topical series’ sprinkled in that are either relevant to the section of the Bible we are in, or to the life of our church.  You can listen to our rich library of sermons from our sermons page.

We play a mix of traditional hymns and modern Christ-centered worship songs, led by members of our church including our Director of Music Ministries Jake Carter.  Usually our worship ensemble consists of a few vocalists, an acoustic guitar, a bass guitar, a piano, and soft percussion.

We have no official dress code.  When you come to a Sunday morning, you will find attendees dressed in anything from casual to semi-formal.  Many of our male leaders wear a suit and tie during the cold months, but don’t let that intimidate you as you will find them also dressing casual with aloha shirts in the warm months.

We are a non-denominational Christian church. However, we do belong to a fellowship of like-minded churches called Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals (FIRE), which you can learn more about here.

You can find a full doctrinal statement on our Beliefs page. To find out how our doctrine translates into our values, convictions, and practical commitments, see our Distinctives page.
